Project "Cultural Bridge: Poland - Okinawa"

The foundation intends to launch the exceptional project "Cultural Bridge: Poland-Okinawa," which will enable children from Poland and Okinawa to learn about each other through exchange visits. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding and respect for cultural diversity and establish enduring friendships between the young participants.
The foundation will schedule the trips so that participants can fully experience each country's unique customs, national culture, and identity. For instance, children from Okinawa will have the chance to spend Christmas in Poland, engage in distinctive ceremonies and traditions, marvel at the Krakow Christmas Market's enchanting ambiance, and participate in the traditional Midnight Mass at St. Mary's Church.

Conversely, children from Poland will have the opportunity to discover customs and festivals celebrated in the Ryukyu Islands that are unusual for Europeans, such as the Eisa Festival, Tanadui Festival, Tsuboya Pottery Festival, and Yonabaru Great Tug-of-War Festival. These experiences will enable young participants to delve into Okinawa's rich culture and traditions.

Furthermore, children from Japan and Okinawa will have the chance to explore and appreciate the beauty and wealth of the natural surroundings, culture, and material heritage of the Nowy Sącz region and Małopolska. Excursions, visits to historical landmarks, and interactions with local artists and artisans will comprehensively immerse Polish culture and traditions.

The "Cultural Bridge: Poland-Okinawa" project goes beyond educational exchange and focuses on building bridges of understanding and cooperation among young people from diverse cultures. Engaging in unique ceremonies and national celebrations will enable children to understand each country's values and traditions better, fostering mutual understanding and respect.
