Aleksander Staniszew

Chairman of the Foundation Council

Aleksander Staniszew (born 1955) is a distinguished karate master and a direct student of Okinawan master Kenyu Chinen. He represents Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate and Okinawa Kobudo in Poland, holding a 9th dan in Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate (2021) and a 7th dan in Okinawa Kobudo (2014). He graduated from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, the International University in Missouri, and numerous postgraduate studies in Poland.

He serves as the Secretary General of the World Oshu Kai Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate Do Kobudo Federation and the Polish Union of Shorin-Ryu Karate Kobudo President. He is an author of books and articles and an organizer of international seminars.

Among his most notable achievements are introducing karate and kobudo from Okinawa to Poland and creating enduring structures for these disciplines. He has trained over 300 black belt practitioners and participated in more than 150 international training sessions. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the Silver and Gold Cross of Merit from the President of Poland.

He contributes his extensive experience and commitment to the Foundation's Council, aiding projects focused on promoting Okinawan martial arts, initiatives for seniors, and the education of children and youth.
